After the buzz of the world’s best female cyclists crossing the Gadebridge Park finish line of the prestigious race in June, British Cycling and Sky are encouraging people to get in the saddle with free Sky Ride Local events this summer.

Councillor Neil Harden, portfolio holder for resident and corporate services, said: “

“More than 5,000 cycling enthusiasts gathered in Dacorum to show their support and enjoy the final of the Aviva Women’s Tour in June.

“If you were inspired by the talented riders, get on your bike and book onto one of Sky Ride’s or Breeze’s guided rides near you today.”

Sky Ride Local has done all the planning while British Cycling has found the best routes, trained up friendly ride leaders and picked some cracking places to visit along the way.

And the rides aren’t just for seasoned cyclists – there are three levels, so everyone can take part whether they’re building their confidence or looking for a challenge to stretch their legs.

The first ride is at 24-miler which leaves from Berkhamsted on Sunday, July 26.

The second, on Sunday, August 2, is 16 miles and takes in the sights in and around Hemel Hempstead.

The third and last is on Sunday, August 9 leaving from Berkhamsted and is the shortest route on offer at nine miles.

All rides start at 10am and though places are free, they need to be booked.
