Horse riders have the chance to enjoy a ride through the spectacular scenery of the Woodhall Estate, in aid of Herts Air Ambulance.

The sixth Grand Tour Sponsored Ride, run by the Puckeridge Hunt, takes place on Sunday, September 20.

Established in 2010, the unique event takes place each year at Woodhall Park, thanks to the estate owners, Ralph and Alexandra Abel Smith.

More than £13,200 has been raised in sponsorship for the air ambulance since the first event.

The ride offers a selection of routes through the parkland, farmland and woodlands of the private estate, most of which is on land not normally open to the public.

Riders can choose between three, six, 12 and 15-mile rides, with optional jumps along the way, and all routes are clearly marked. There will be a barbecue available all day from 9am, and riders will pass Ella’s Cafe, selling home-baked cakes and refreshments.

Entry costs £25 for adults and £12 for under-12s. All riders must raise a minimum sponsorship of £5. See www.grandtoursponsoredride.com
