PCSO James Cook said: “We were handing out purse bells which are attached to a purse and help alert shoppers if someone tries to steal it, as well as panic alarms.

“We were also advising people about how to protect themselves and their property. It was a successful event, with 20 people signed up to Neighbourhood Watch during the day.”

There are currently more than 9,500 households signed up to Neighbourhood Watch in Dacorum alone.
