The competition, which is a collaboration between the Rotary Club of Berkhamsted Bulbourne and the Ashridge division of The National
Association of Decorative and Fine Art Societies, first ran last year.

It received four times the number of paintings this time around, from schools in
Hemel, Berkhamsted, Tring and the villages.

The overall first prize was awarded to Avril Thomas, a pupil at Bishop Wood School in Tring.

She scooped a Mister Maker Doofle Drawer to take home, as well as a dispenser of Creativity International’s fadeless display paper for her school in Frogmore Street.

More than 100 people attended the prize giving ceremony at Hemel’s
Astley Cooper School, and the awards were handed out by Mike Penning MP and the Mayor of Dacorum.

The Mayor of Berkhamsted was also there on the night.

All the entries were
displayed in a temporary exhibition in the school’s hall.
