Vox pop: Are pigeons a menace?

Are pigeons a menace?

Are pigeons a menace?

David O’Neill has been asking people in Berkhamsted and Tring what they think of pigeons, nuisance or innocent?

Nick Reynolds, Tring, works in Hemel Hempstead:

Pigeons poo in towns and are diseased and pigeons in the countryside eat crops, so shooting them to keep numbers down to me is good.

Amanda Jobling, Berkhamsted, dog walker:

They have completely ruined my decking . Their faeces have made it look like there are burn marks all over it! I am really fed up with them.

Brian Edward Ellis, Berkhamsted, member of the Everything Berko Facebook page, Manchester City Football Club fan:

Mary Poppins loved to feed them... why can’t we?

Neil Smith, Tring:

No more than humans are when they leave their rubbish everywhere in fields, on beaches, in gateways. They are always moaning about animals that are cleaner than them.

Simon Ragoonanan, Berkhamsted, member of the Everything Berko Facebook page:

You get a much better class of pigeons in Berkhamsted than there are in London.
