Top company calls out for foster carers

A foster care service rated as Outstanding by Ofsted is looking to recruit more people to offer loving homes to children.

Orange Grove Fostercare is looking for people from a range of backgrounds to help meet a growing demand for children who have experienced a difficult start in life.

Orange Grove’s Three Shires division, which covers Herts, Bucks, Beds, Northants and Cambs, hopes that its groundbreaking training and support for foster carers will tempt people to develop a rewarding, home-based career in fostering.

The company currently supports 400 vulnerable children and young people who have been successfully placed with carers.Anyone can foster, whatever their ethnicity, age or sexuality, as long as they can provide a warm, loving and safe home to a child who needs it.

An Ofsted inspection in December rated Orange Grove Fostercare’s overall effectiveness as Outstanding.

The inspectors said: “The children and young people receive an outstanding service where they feel safe and have stable placements.

“The tremendous support provided to the highly skilled foster carers has resulted in successful progress for the children and young people.”

Orange Grove offers round­the-­clock support and intensive training to foster carers, starting with induction training prior to becoming a carer.

Foster carers also receive competitive payments, professional fees and care allowances, making it possible to build a home­-working career as a foster carer.
