Year 5 pupils at Boxmoor Primary School present a cheque to the Hospice of St Francis

A group of 15 fabulous fundraisers have raised more than £400 for the Hospice of St Francis... and they’re only in Year 5.

Boxmoor Primary pupil Harvey Potton rounded up his friends to see how they could help the Berkhamsted-based of life care centre, and decided to pool all their talents to host a special fundraising event.

The group showed off their skills – which included designing tickets, diving, swimming, playing violin, dancing, singing, bracelet and cake making and DJing – in front of 8o people at Hemel Hempstead’s Sportspace.

They later presented a cheque for £436 to the Hospice’s Harriet Karia, who said: “They are such a community spirited bunch of children, who used their talents to benefit our patients and their families here at the Hospice.

“It is lovely to see that their hard work really paid off. The money is enough to fund our annual Family Day for families who have lost a loved one at the Hospice as part of their bereavement process.

“Their fundraising really will make a difference.”
