It is part of the national Citizens Advice Bureau’s Big Energy Saving Week, which aims to help those worried about rising energy bills.

Dacorum bureau chief executive Victoria MacGregor said: “If you have never switched you can save up to £200 and the average saving is around £100.

“It is a lot simpler than it used to be. The regulator has really cracked down so it is a good time to switch.

“You don’t have to do it online, people can also use the helpline.”
