There are fears that poachers could be targeting muntjac deer and foxes along a popular dog walking spot.

One weekend dog walker made the grim discovery of a decapitated deer and two other corpses while out with her pets in lanes that run behind Cuffley Court, Nightingale Walk and Sainsbury’s in Woodhall Farm, Hemel Hempstead on Sunday morning.

The woman said: “The bodies had been sliced open and the eyeballs removed. I’d like to warn everybody as it’s pretty gruesome. There were also bullets in the grass.”
