Berkhamsted’s new Marks & Spencer Simply Food store will open just two months from now.
The food giant has taken out a 20-year lease to move into the former Royal Mail sorting office.
New owner Metric Property is in the process of converting the High Street site into a leisure hub – at an estimated cost of £5m.
There will be additional space for two shop or restaurant units within the hub, which is now being extended to make it much bigger. It is not yet known whether businesses have been found to move into the two units.
Spokesman for M&S Amy Ashford said: “Plans to open the new M&S Berkhamsted Simply Food store are progressing well.
“We look forward to opening our doors in May and offering our customers M&S quality and freshness, with a wide variety of delicious food and drink ranges to choose from.”
