New book by former Kings Langley student

Felix Dodds, aged 59, has co-edited the book, titled The Water, Food, Energy and Climate Nexus: Challenges and an Agenda for Action, .

Felix is a senior fellow at the Global Research Institute and a senior affiliate at The Water Institute, at the University of North Carolina (UNC).

Global trends of population growth, rising living standards and the increasing urbanisation of the world are intensifying the demand for water, food and energy.

Added to this is the growing threat of climate change, which will have huge impacts on water and food availability.

It is increasingly clear that there is no place in an interlinked world for isolated solutions. In recent years the ‘Nexus’ of inter-connected water, food, energy and climate challenges has emerged as a powerful concept.

The book provides an overview of the science behind the Nexus and the implications for policies and sustainable development.

Felix said: “I had the pleasure of being one of the Kings Langley School’s first sixth form members. Kings Langley School gave me the education that I built my career on and, as someone who suffered dyslexia, it is great to have produced 12 books.

“My lesson is always challenge your barriers and have fun doing it.”
