Nesting season is over - so let's trim

Residents and landowners have given the green light to trim vegetation that has overgrown onto roads and footpaths now that bird nesting season is over.

The main breeding season for nesting birds is between 1 March and 31 July, meaning that the hedges, trees and shrubs should not be disturbed.

Hertfordshire County Council’s contractor, Ringway has now started cutting back vegetation around road signs and to improve visibility at junctions and blind corners as part of our countywide spruce-up campaign.
