The future of the most popular music event in the borough has been thrown into doubt after bosses announced they are ‘revisiting’ Music on the Moor.

The cost of staging the free festival has reached £100,000 and the Box Moor Trust says it needs to decide if the event, which draws 25,000 people, is the best use for the cash.

Next year’s event has been cancelled – it has run every two years since 2001 – and talks are taking place about 2014.
