Golf champion swings into action for charity

A junior golf champion from Hemel Hempstead will be playing four rounds of golf in an all-day effort to support families battling with cancer.

Callum Powell, aged 12, will be completing 72 holes at Little Hay Golf Complex, in Bovingdon, on June 18, in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

Callum, who attended Two Waters Primary School and is now at Aylesbury Grammar School, has been playing golf since the age of four.

He won the European Junior Championship in 2014 and now has a handicap of 10 .

The 72-hole challenge will start as soon as the golf complex opens at 7am, and is likely to continue all day until it closes.

A club spokesman said: “Little Hay Golf Complex would like to wish Callum the very best of luck.”

Callum has already raised £325 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
