Get your boots on for the Berkhamsted Walk

The 48th Berkhamsted Walk next month could be the last, unless more volunteers come forward to help with the organising.

The fundraising walk in the beautiful Chiltern countryside around the town is held every year in aid of The Chiildren’s Society, and has raised over £300,000 for the charity.

This year’s walk takes place on Sunday, May 8, with options of a six-mile Fun Walk starting and ending at Ashridge, a 12-mile Bluebell Walk or the 18-mile Challenge.

The annual event is organised by the voluntary Berkhamsted Committee, who support the work of The Children’s Society.

But this year both the walk organiser and the secretary are both retiring, so the committee is desperate to encourage new volunteers, to prevent this walk frombeing the last.

To take part in the way-marked walk, which changes route each year, people can either gain sponsorship or pay a donation on the day.
