Brave firefighters put out a bedroom blaze in a Hemel Hempstead semi-detached house this morning.

They were called to tackle the first-floor flames in the Montgomery Avenue property just after 8.20am and had put them out within 15 minutes.

It took them almost 30 minutes after that to get rid of all of the smoke that was left behind. They ruled that the blaze was caused by accident.

The two fire engines left the Adeyfield home at 9.05am to return to their base in nearby Queensway.
