Cyclist hit by car and catapulted into the air in Magic Roundabout smash

A cyclist was catapulted into the air when he was hit by a car close to Hemel Hempstead’s Magic Roundabout.

The man, aged in his 50s, landed on the windscreen of the vehicle suffering a head and lower back injury just after 12.30pm today.

He was taken to London’s St Mary’s Hospital by ambulance.

Although the Herts Air Ambulance was called to the accident it was not needed.

A silver Peugeot 207 car had to be recovered.

Police left the scene at 1pm.
