Crime prevention, safety advice and the chance to sign up to Neighbourhood Watch will be on offer this weekend.

Police, firefighters and Neighbourhood Watch officials will be at Halfords and Pets at Home in London Road, Hemel Hempstead, on Saturday, February 1 from 10am to 2pm.

The car parts store has donated packs of anti-theft numberplate screws, which staff will be fitting for £2.

Firefighters will be offering free home fire safety checks and anyone who signs up to a Neighbourhood Watch scheme or gets numberplate screws fitted on the day will receive a free tea or coffee from neighbouring McDonalds.

Horse owners can take along their tack to get it security marked for free by specialist rural police officers.
