Charity thanks mayor for a year of support

As the time approaches for a new mayor to take over as first citizen of Dacorum borough, Rennie Grove Hospice Care has thanked the current mayor, Gbola Adeleke, for his support during his mayoral year.

During the year, the mayor has hosted a range of events and initiatives to raise funds for Rennie Grove, his charity of the year, which exists to give local patients with life-limiting illness a choice about how and where they receive care towards the end of life.

Events included a carol concert at JFK School, afternoon tea at Shendish Manor, a quiz night and civic dinner.

Rennie Grove community fundraising manager, Nicola MacKinnon, said: “We are so grateful to the Mayor of Dacorum for his support.

“He has helped us in so many ways, not only raising thousands of pounds towards our patient care but also raising vital awareness of our service in the local community.

“As well as hosting his own events, he joined us at some of our own in the neighbourhood, including our first-ever Hemel 10K last July and the annual Tring Midsummer Fun Run.”
