Puffins Sports Club

Puffins is the latest organisation to achieve the Valuing Volunteer Management 6Point Promise award.

Puffins is an inclusive sports club that supports people with all forms of disability including physical, learning and mental health conditions.

The club meets on Saturdays in Hemel Hempstead’s Sportspace where members enjoy games of badminton, table tennis, pool, snooker and basketball as well as group activities such as indoor hockey, cricket or curling to finish off the day.

Puffins has been running for almost 30 years and is headed up entirely by volunteers.

The club is lucky to have enough volunteers for now but new members are welcome.

Volunteer Dacorum

We urgently need your spare wool to help our new knit and natter group get off to a great start?

We have a happy band of volunteer s who knit and crochet at home and are about to launch a new group that will meet at the Roundhouse in the Marlowes.

Our knitters turn double knit and three or four ply wool into beautiful handmade garments.

The colourful hats, scarves, jumpers and blankets bring smiles and joy and make a real difference to the lives of babies and children in Africa, India and Romania.

If you have any wool to donate or would like to become a volunteer knitter, we would love to hear from you.

Guide Dogs for the Blind

Do you have two hours each week to spend as a sighted guide for a blind or partially sighted person?

The right volunteer will be patient and kind and have an understanding of or interest in sight loss.

You would need to take part in a nationally recognised training course.

Volunteers should be
18 or over.
