People are being invited to share their views on the transformation of Hemel Hempstead’s town centre, which has taken place over the last year.

Dacorum Borough Council is hosting a Hemel Evolution social media takeover day on Wednesday, January 13 from 9am to 5pm, which will look back over 2015’s regeneration achievements and look ahead to improvement plans in 2016.

Those living, working or with an interested in the town are invited to get in touch through the council’s Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn profiles to ask questions, post pictures of their favourite parts of the town and give feedback on the regeneration.

The new-look Marlowes pedestrianised shopping area and Bank Court were officially opened in the run up to Christmas during a special festive event, while the neighbouring bus interchange and Bridge Stret opened on December 21.

Councillor Graham Sutton, who oversees planning and regeneration, said: “This new year is a good time to reflect on what’s been achieved – but we’re still going full speed ahead on the Jellicoe Water Gardens restoration and re-energising the area around the Civic Centre. The Forum is rising from the ground in front of our eyes, while plans for surrounding residential developments are also coming on well.

“Please do take the opportunity to go on social media on Wednesday, January 13, find out more about how Hemel is changing and tell us what you think.

“We’ve had some really positive, constructive feedback so far and it’s really encouraging to feel the buzz about town.”
