Burglars hospitalise victim

A man was hit on the head with a crowbar and suffered deep wounds after he woke up to discover three masked men burgling his home in Kings Langley.

The three men broke into the property in Rucklers Lane, Kings Langley, on Thursday, May 19, between 12.15-12.35pm.

The victim was asleep at the time, but was woken up and confronted the men who had all covered their faces with bandanas.

When he confronted them they assaulted him before fleeing in a black BMW 3 Series that was parked in the street.

They drove to the M25 and headed in the direction of the M40 motorway.

The victim required stitches to his head. He was treated and discharged from hospital on the same day.

The items taken are:

A 23ct men’s ring;

Two silver bangles with ruby stones;

Two silver bangles with a range of precious stones;

Two 22ct bracelets with white and yellow gold;

A long 22ct chain with a silver square pendant;

A platinum chain;

One 22ct Indian earring (the other earring was left behind);

A 22ct woman’s ring;

An 18ct turquoise woman’s ring;

An 18ct jade woman’s ring;

A three piece 22ct chain, earrings and pendant;

A three piece 18ct chain, earrings and pendant;

Three 22ct small earrings;

An 18ct turquoise pendant;

Two sets of diamond earrings;

A 22ct diamond ring;

A platinum chain;

A Russian ring;

A 22ct long chain with three pendants;

Two ankle chains;

Two 22ct chains with pendants;

Two 22ct children’s bracelets;

A pair of 22ct large earrings;

Three pairs of 22ct earrings;

A 22ct pendant with white stones and earrings;

A pair of large 22ct earrings;

A 22ct ring;

A pair of 22ct hoops;

A pair of 22ct earrings;

A gold cuff and choker.

Detective Constable Peter Spiers, investigating, said: “I am appealing for anyone who saw three men or the black BMW 3 Series in the area around the times stated to get in touch as you may have vital information that could help our investigation.

“I would also like to speak to anyone who may have been offered the jewellery, pictured, for sale.

“I’d like to take this opportunity to reassure the local community that crimes of this nature are extremely unusual in Kings Langley and we are doing all we can to find these offenders.

“During this time police patrols have been increased in the area.”
