An Apsley florist is running a charity fundraising scheme that’s sure to have its customers coming up smelling of roses.

Throughout June, Maples Flowers on London Road will donate £1 from every bouquet sold to the Berkhamsted-based Hospice of St Francis, with a whole 10% being given to the palliative care centre if you quote ‘HOSPICE’ with your order.

In addition, business owner Shane Maples is hosting a two-hour specialist flower workshop at the Holiday Inn in Breakspear Way, near to the M1 junction 8 entrance on Wednesday, June 25 from 7pm, with all money raised also going to the good cause.

Shane said: “After meeting with the guys and girls at the Hospice of St Francis, I was very moved by the hard work of all the team to help provide such a wonderful service to those who need it most.

“I want my business to be at the core of the community and help other organisations. I felt that by holding a month of fundraising with my flower shop we can really raise some cash that will help make a difference and enable them to continue their amazing care and support.”

The workshop costs £40 per person including tea, coffee and the arrangement you create. Call 01442 800812 to book.
