Man charged over knifepoint robbery at chemist

A 25-year-old man has been charged with multiple offences after staff at a Hemel Hempstead chemist were threatened at knifepoint.

Nelson Loveridge, of Honeycross Road, Hemel Hempstead, is due to appear before Hatfield Remand Court today, charged with:

> Robbery;

> Possession of a bladed article;

> Criminal damage;

> Dangerous driving;

> Driving with no insurance;

> Driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence.

This follows the robbery at Nash Chemists in Long Chaulden just after 6pm on Wednesday, June 15.

A man entered the shop after it had closed and threatened three staff members with a knife before stealing methadone, other drugs and a small quantity of cash.

The suspect then escaped in a car before police caught up with him on the A41.

He came off at the Chesham slip road before crashing the vehicle at the junction with the A416.

No staff members were injured during the incident.
