A 44-year-old man from Northampton has been arrested on suspicion of a racially aggravated public order offence after an incident of anti-semitic chanting on a London Midland train.

British Transport Police (BTP) recently appealed for information about five football fans travelling on the line between Watford Junction and Milton Keynes - which also serves Dacorum, Leighton Buzzard, Bletchley and Bedford – on Saturday, 15 August.

Following the appeal, a 44-year-old man from Northampton has been arrested. He has been bailed pending further enquiries until Monday, October 26.

Four other men will be spoken to in due course.

PC Michael Botterill said: “I would like to thank the public and the media for their help with this appeal.”
