A selection of the opportunities available this week through Volunteer Centre Dacorum.
Volunteer Centre Dacorum will be celebrating Volunteers Week 2013 with a fun-packed day at its centre in Marlowes, Hemel Hempstead on Saturday June 1.
We need lots of lovely volunteers to support us with this event.
You will be helping to spread the message about how fantastic volunteering can be and helping us to raise vital funds for our charity.
By supporting the Volunteer Centre you will be helping us to support more than 350 Dacorum- based charities and community groups.
Without our help, many of them would struggle to find the voluntary help they need, some might even close.
Your support could help us to give an unemployed person the chance to rebuild their life through volunteering or a disabled person to experience life changing opportunities.
If you could help before the event by baking cakes or donating a prize or with practical help on the day, we would love to hear from you.
> The charity also needs someone who can come up with the ideas and will help organise fundraising events throughout the year.
The right volunteer will have a good imagination and loads of motivation to raise money for Volunteer Centre work.
You might want to organise a dress down day at work, a coffee morning, a garden sale or let your imagination run riot.
If you know how to apply for funding or commercial sponsorship, too, then this would be a bonus.
> Dacorum Talking Newspaper needs volunteers to help out with practical tasks for up to three hours maybe twice in five week .
This home-grown charity keeps 250 sight-impaired people up to date with the news by recording articles from the Gazette on to memory sticks and then sending them out in the post.
The role involves taking copies of the master memory stick and then getting them ready to post out. Full training is given.
