Work begins on development of 87 new houses and flats

Scaffolding has been erected in Leverstock Green ahead of the building of 87 new homes in the area.

The work, due to begin in January and continue until autumn 2014, will include three one-bedroom flats, 31 two-bedroom flats and 53 two-to five-bedroom houses.

Thirty per cent of homes in the new development, called Kings Copse, will be affordable, including shared ownership properties.

Christine Tiernan, sales and marketing director for Crest Nicholson South, the firm behind the plans, said: “We’re sure that these properties will be a hit with homebuyers.”

There were mixed reactions during an exhibition of plans for the site between Buncefield Lane and Green Lane at Leverstock Green Village Hall in January.

But only three people objected during a public consultation into whether they should go ahead.
