Woman 'seriously injured' in crash
A woman suffered serious head injuries in a head-on road smash on Redbourn Road.
The woman, believed to be from Luton, was travelling in a Mercedes A-class towards Redbourn when it collided with a Honda on Monday afternoon. (January 5)
She is understood to be in a serious but stable condition at the Royal Free Hospital in London.
Six other people, including the occupants of a white van, were involved in the crash, near the junction with Three Cherry Trees Lane, but none required hospital treatment.
Gary Sanderson, spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said: "The woman sustained significant injuries and required rapid treatment and stabilisation on the roadside.
"Following this, she was taken by land ambulance to the Royal Free Hospital in London."
The air ambulance was scrambled for the incident but the woman was taken to hospital in a land ambulance.
The road was closed for around three hours following the accident.
