A MUM who struggled to foot hefty bills for childcare is launching a breakfast club for little ones.

Julie Hunt, who lives just up the road from Leverstock Green Primary School, is taking advantage of her position to put on a breakfast club.

New rules mean that if she looks after children aged eight or over she does not have to pay hefty Ofsted registration fees.

“If I don’t have to pay that I can offer affordable childcare to mums that want to work,” said Julie, a 47-year-old mum of three teenage daughters. “You can also take children under eight as long as you don’t have them for more than two hours at a time.

When her children – Amy, Emma, and Victoria – were growing up Julie, a working single mum at the time, found it difficult to afford childcare so wants to make it easier for mums in the same position now.

The club will run from 7.30am on weekdays and costs £5 including breakfast. To find out more call 01442 266583.
