‘Who wants our cash? We’ve got £4,000 to give away’

Town councillors have got £4,000 to give away and are calling for good causes to apply for a slice of the cash.

Berkhamsted Town Council sets aside £10,000 each financial year for groups which help people in the area and has already given out £6,000 for the current financial year.

But there is only one more meeting of its finance and policy committee, which decides what goes where, before the financial year ends in late April.

You can apply for some of the cash by visiting www.berkhamsted.gov.uk and clicking on finance.

Clerk Gary Cox said: “Local organisations can put applications in and they have got one more meeting on March 4 for it to be considered this year.”

In recent months, the council has given cash to 11 organisations, including the Berkhamsted Arts Trust and Age Concern Dacorum.
