Whipsnade’s brrr-illiant half term lessons on cold critters

A red panda is perfectly prepared for wintry weather

ZSL Whipsnade Zoo will be celebrating its cold weather creatures through a series of interactive talks during half term.

‘Fat and Fur’ week will teach visitors how animals like red pandas and wolves are perfectly prepared for the icy winter months with thick coats and padded feet which act as snowshoes.

While resident wolverines Pige and Puff tuck into tasty ice treats, families can embark on a journey of discovery in the brand new Mongolian yurt along the Passage Through Asia.

There’s also plenty of school holiday fun to be had with Hullabazoo, the zoo’s new indoor play centre, and daily Sealion Splash and Birds Of The World demonstrations.

‘Fat and Fur’ week takes place from Saturday, February 18 to Sunday, February 24. Visit zsl.org to book tickets.
