A raid on a Hemel Hempstead takeaway has seen two men arrested for immigration offences.

Officers from the UK Border Agency swooped on Flaming House in Lawn Lane at around 5.40pm last Thursday (November 1).

Checks revealed that a 20-year-old man from Pakistan, who was working at the kebab shop, had overstayed his visa. He was taken into detention pending his removal from the country.
A second man, found at the shop but not working there, was also arrested. The 37-year-old Indian man had also overstayed his visa. He was later released and must regularly report to a police station while arrangements are made to remove him from the UK.

Flaming House faces a potential fine of up to £10,000 unless it can prove that the correct pre-employment checks were carried out on the illegal worker.
