Parents of youngsters gripped by Twilight fever are being urged to make sure their teenage film fans get home safely if they are allowed to attend a midnight screening of the final movie in the blockbuster series tonight.

Hemel Hempstead’s Empire cinema in Jarman Park is showing the latest film in the franchise at one minute past midnight.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part Two is the last in the series of vampire movies starring Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, which have attracted a strong following of teenage girls.

The 12A rated feature is released in cinemas nationwide tomorrow, and the Empire is giving fans the chance to be among the first to see it with the special midnight screening.

In the run up to the premiere of the new film, there will be back to back showings of the four previous films at 2.50pm, 5.05pm, 7.30pm and 9.45pm, with exclusive filmed introductions from the cast, music videos and other footage.

Viewers will also get an exclusive Twilight Saga gift when they arrive at the cinema.

A spokesman for the cinema said no additional safety measures will be put in place during the event. She said: “It is just a normal night at the cinema.

“It was done last year and it was hugely successful.

“The cinema is always fully staffed and managed.”

But police are urging parents to ensure they arrange safe transport for their children to get to and from the cinema complex.

Herts Constabulary spokesman Olivia Finucane said: “We will be patrolling the area.

“If your teenage daughter or son are attending please ensure they have transport to and from the cinema.

“Make sure you have got provisions in place to ensure they get home safely.”
