Tough going for Berko swimmers
Berkhamsted Sports Centre's youngsters continued to find life tough in a brand new league.
Following promotion they now compete in Division One of Herts Peanuts League, and took part in round two at Potters Bar last weekend.
Without any of their 12-year-old boys' squad they were always up against it but the team of 28 fought to the end.
Best placings on the night went to stalwarts Yazi Brand and Katie Brown in the 12 and 11 years' butterfly and Tom Croker in the nine years' breastroke, who all claimed second places.
Christian Nel, swimming up in the 10 years' free pinched a third-place spot, which was a new best time for a nine year old.
The were pbs galore, the best one of the night going to Emily Hannaby who dropped over eight seconds to post 22.24 in the 10 years' fly.
Hannah Coulson, Jordan Northwood (both 11 years' back), Mason Brand (fly), Pixie Woodus (nine years' free), Holly Hannaby (nine years' back), Abi Hurst, Tom Croker (both nine years' breast), Harriet Horwood-Jones (10 years' back) and Aisha Cooper (11 years' breast) also improved in their events.
The club finished in sixth place overall, meaning that relegation surely beckons. All will be decided at the final gala on the first Saturday in July.
