Toni Vyse heads a scheme to help people with learning difficulties gain new skills and has been put forward for People's Pride by one of her students.
From her home in Chipperfield Toni runs About Getting Out that makes information picture booklets and DVDs that are easy for people with learning difficulties to understand.
She is also a volunteer for the Hemel Campaigners, a group who work for people with learning difficulties in Dacorum.
Toni aims to help people with learning difficulties gain independence by teaching them skills and getting them into work.
Her latest project taught the basics of using digital cameras and camcorders and her trainees can now work alongside Toni in making her booklets and DVDs.
Nominating, her student Charles Welborn said: "Toni has been an excellent teacher. She made every single photography day perfect.
"Now she will sort out work for our group and she has also given us her contact number and said we can contact her when ever we want. I think she should be nominated because she is kind and caring and can always sort a problem out."
