Time for a winter warmer
A coffee morning will raise vital funds to help keep older folk warm during the winter months.
Age UK Hemel Hempstead is hosting the cuppa congretation on Friday, February 8 to raise funds on Bobble Day at its Bridge Street shop from 10am to 4pm.
For those who are unable to make it, there are plenty of other ways to fundraise, from digging out long forgotten woolly jumpers and wearing them to work to holding a tea morning or simply making a donation.
And, of course, there are fluffy bobbles – perfect for jazzing up any outfit – available for a suggested £1 donation from the Age UK shop.
Shop manager Jenny Smith said: “Taking part in Bobble Day is simple and fun. Whether people join us at the coffee morning or organise their own winter warming activity, everyone will be helping to raise vital funds for people in later life.”
Money raised will go towards Age UK’s Spread the Warmth campaign, which is helping older people stay warm and safe by giving out hot meals and offers information and advice.
