The first Muzicmeet in Tring drew in more than 40 people who enjoyed the live music

A brand new music networking group in Tring hit all the right notes after more than 40 people turned up to try it out.

Muzicmeet is the brainchild of melodic trio George Harvey, Richard Langston and Vivianne Child who met through a business networking event and discovered their shared passion for music.

They set up Muzicmeet in a bid to gather those who love all things music in Tring and the surrounding area at the Black Horse pub in the town’s Frogmore Street.

All are welcome, from music-lovers to musicians and to those who design album art and record in the studio.

George said: “We were delighted with the turnout. So many people said they were taken aback by the quality of music.

“It’s a great start and we really want to build on it.”

The audience looked on as talented twosome Tic-Tok Boom played an original set, along with four other accomplished groups and artists who shared their gifts on the night.

Vivianne said: “The first meeting gave me something I hoped would happen – people who had never met before making the beginnings of friendships through a shared passion for music.”

Richard said: “We have ambitious plans for Muzicmeet. We want to make an album featuring Muzicmeet artists and put on a charity show featuring the Muzicmeet All Stars later this year.”

Things have gone from strength the strength since the first meet, as George, Richard and Vivianne were on the airwaves last week on BBC Three Counties Radio talking to presenter Nick Coffer.

Listen to the Muzicmeet founders on air here – two hours and 18 minutes in – along with Tic-Tok Boom fresh from their set at the Black Horse.

The next Muzicmeet will be on Thursday, March 13 at The Black Horse at 7.30pm.For more, search Muzicmeet on Twitter or Facebook, or email george@muzicmeet.org.
