Thief stole from shop

A newsagent was targeted by a burglar who stole cash from its till.

Police rushed to the scene at Martin in Henry Well Square, Hemel Hempstead, at around 5.20pm on Tuesday (March 2).

The thief took a newspaper and some sweets from the back of the store and went to the counter to be served.

But when the shop assistant opened the till, the offender grabbed cash from it and ran out of the shop in the Greenacres Tavern pub direction.

The offender was described as a man aged 19 or 20.

He was dressed in a hoody with light and dark blue horizontal stripes,

black trousers, white trainers and a blue baseball cap with writing on it.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident.
