Motorists are being warned to be on their guard after a spate of thefts from vehicles in Dacorum.
Since the end of September, nine vehicles have been targeted in Hemel Hempstead, Berkhamsted and Tring, where car parts have been stolen. These include windscreen wipers, wing mirrors, bumpers and aerials, as well as indicators, batteries and head rests.
Det Insp Justine Jenkins said: “This is an unusual series of crimes which we’re investigating thoroughly.
“I’d urge people to keep an eye out in their local area for anyone who may be acting suspiciously around a vehicle.
“The incidents are generally happening during the evening, with some occurring during the night.
“If you believe someone, or a vehicle, is out of place or acting suspiciously, you should contact police immediately via 999 so we can take action.
“I would also ask people to contact me if they believe they know who may be responsible for these thefts. Please call me via the non-emergency number 101.”
