BOSSES at the XC have spoken out to allay the concerns of users who are growing tired of the skatepark’s numerous closures.

One side of the park is exposed to the elements and regularly has to shut as a result of bad weather.

Dacorum Sports Trust marketing and communications director Elise Hyslop said: “The safety of all our users is our foremost concern. We therefore take the precaution of closing the skatepark if we believe there may be any risks in using it.

“When the building was originally designed and constructed, we were advised that an assessment of the prevailing weather around the site was undertaken, and that there would be minimal impact.

“This has obviously proven to be more challenging than anticipated.

“We have a team of architects and builders working round the clock to find both short and longer term solutions, and as soon as a viability analysis has been completed of all the options currently on the table, we will advise our customers.

“In the meantime, we would like to thank everyone for their patience, support and understanding.”

Could have saved a fortune for a different design. Working round the clock? I don't think so; would cost too much. All to do with the weather? Probably not. Traffic headlights are obviously a problem otherwise why cover up that outside wall with whatever? Seems a lot of thought was missing at the time.

Quote - We have a team of architects and builders working round the clock to find both short and longer term solutions, and as soon as a viability analysis has been completed of all the options currently on the table, we will advise our customers. This could cost a few bob then - if true! Doesn't anyone listen to what they say anymore? (assuming they actually said that.)

That's what you get when you always go for the lowest quote.
