Scorpion team strikes out

The streets of Dacorum are a safer place thanks to cops tasked with driving down thefts.

Operation Scorpion – a team made up of a sergeant and seven officers – has cut incidents of muggings by almost half.

From April 2010 to January 2011 there were 89 street robberies across Dacorum – the highest number in the whole of Herts.

Work by the plain-clothed team has helped reduce muggings by 46 per cent to 48 incidents between April 2011 and January 2012.
