Rugby club off the bottom
Tring Rugby Club are off the bottom of the table thanks to their third win of the season.
They saw off sixth-placed Dorking 18-7 thanks to two Tim Holgate tries and a couple of Tom Newton penalties.
Ollie Cummings put the visitors to Cow Lane 5-0 up with Richard Kemp converting, before Holgate's first five-pointer narrowed the gap.
Newton had already missed a penalty by the time the try was scored and he was again off target with the conversion.
But he had found his kicking boots within a minute of the second half getting under way as he fired a penalty between the sticks.
He missed another kicking chance six minutes later but Holgate took Tring into the lead on 52 minutes with his second score, Newton converting.
Two more penalty misses sandwiched a successful three-pointer from Newton, who made the final score 18-7 in the 58th minute.
Michael Hicks, Mark Burke and Ben Selwyn all came off the bench, whilst Gareth Brigganshaw headed in the other direction to the sin bin having picked up a yellow card.
Next up for the men in black and gold is a home game with fellow strugglers Haywards Heath this Saturday.
