A raffle to win a hand-made quilt fetched £760 for Breast Cancer Care.

The brightly coloured creation was made by a quilting group that meets at Patchwork Corner in Belswains Lane, Apsley, Hemel Hempstead, on Thursday mornings.

It took the team of around 12 members, led by Jill Pearce who came up with the idea, around six months to complete.

Before being handed over to the raffle winner last week, the blanket was put on show at the National Quilt Championships at Sandown during the summer.

Winning ticket holder Christine Edwards, who works at the Greyhound pub in Wigginton, is pictured with her prize.

Quilter Angela Walsh said: “Thank you to all those that took part but also to all those who supported it.”
