Youngsters were given carnation flowers to take home to the most important women in their lives for Mother’s Day.

Hemel Hempstead florist Katie Picco donated the 122 wrapped flowers to The Collett School.

On Thursday, children and teachers dressed up as their favourite fictional characters to celebrate World Book Day.

Headteacher Stephen Hoult-Allen led the way by dressing up as chocolate maker Willy Wonka.

On the same day books, which had been purchased by the Friends of The Collett School, were sold to children at knockdown prices and excerpts from stories were read out to youngsters during assembly.
