Pub firm picks up gong in Eat Out Awards
Pub firm Oakman Inns has been crowned Pub Company of the Year in the 2013 Eat Out Awards.
Judges said they were ‘excited by this forward-looking pub business’ and rated it highly on community involvement.
The firm is behind The Akeman in Tring, The King’s Arms in Berkhamsted and The Red Lion at Water End.
There are another two pubs in Oxfordshire and plans for new ventures in Buckinghamshire this year.
In his acceptance speech, chief executive Peter Borg-Neal, who previously owned a restaurant in Tring, said “I am absolutely thrilled.
He congratulated his ‘ marvellous teams’ but added: “Most of all this award has been won by our local customers.”
