Praise for police helpers
Police and crime commissioner David Lloyd met with volunteers and police officers based at Abbots Langley.
Volunteers that help to run a village police station have been praised by the county’s police and crime commissioner.
David Lloyd visited Abbots Langley Police Station to meet volunteers who staff the front counter and run neighbourhood watch schemes.
He also met with the safer neighbourhood police team.
Mr Lloyd said: “Keeping Hertfordshire safe is not just a job for the police and people giving up their free time to volunteer for the constabulary is both valued and welcomed – I wholeheartedly support schemes like this.”
The front counter volunteers were recently awarded the Police Volunteer Team of the Year award, while Sgt Neil Canning, who oversees the team, was crowned Volunteer Co-ordinator of the Year.
