Popular hall misses out on makeover

A church building has missed out on a makeover by top designers.

The well-used St Peter and St Paul's Church hall in Tring made it to the final of a national competition.

But the Sutton Court entry stumbled at the last hurdle.

The winning entry, decided by votes, is a 1950s building in a Shropshire town, which houses an indoor market.

It will be made over by British design icons Terence Conran and Tara Bernerd.

Meanwhile in Tring, plans are afoot to go ahead with a down-scaled makeover at the popular hall.
