Music event to remember Stephen
A charity music event to celebrate the life of a Hemel Hempstead man who died tragically last month will take place on Bank Holiday Sunday.
Stephen McFarlane, 29, died at his home on Garland Close on Wednesday, July 23. He is believed to have committed suicide.
School pal Brett Brown, 29, said his friend had a 'big personality' and decided to host a charity fundraiser in his memory.
Mr Brown explained: "Steve was a very good friend of mine and I wanted to do something in his name, to show his family that he isn't forgotten.
"He liked music, especially drum and bass, so I'm putting on a night of DJs in Hemel Hempstead to raise money for a charity of his family's choice."
Mr McFarlane's inquest was opened on Monday, July 28 and adjourned to a date to be fixed.
The coroner's office has given the cause of his death as suspension.
All are welcome to the DJ event, between 7pm and midnight on Bank
Holiday Sunday, August 24, at The Venue, High Street, Hemel Hempstead.
The bar and DJs are not charging organisers for their services.
