Mixed bag on sticky return

Four of Tring Hockey club's 10 sides turned out for the first time in weeks and had a mixed bag of results.

The only men's side to take to the field were the firsts, who were smashed 8-1 by Eastcote.

It was a win, loss and a draw for the ladies, with the IIIs beaten 1-0 at Letchworth and the IIs drawing 1-1 with Bedford, Katie Haines getting their goal.

The development side, however, smashed Stevenage 5-1.

Katy Hart opened the scoring only to see the opponents equalise.

But from then on it was all Tring with Hannah Prentice making it 2-1 at the break and strikes from Hart, Megan Sawh and Abi Lawlor making it 5-2 at the final whistle.

All the club's games should be back on this weekend.
