The man who ran 100 marathons in 100 days has got two others to join him in a new charity challenge.

Framework Scaffolding Contractors managing director Matthew Loddy ran from Lagos, Portugal, to London last year to raise cash for two charities in memory of a work colleague.

The 47-year-old, of Watford Road, Kings Langley, raised more than £100,000 for Northchurch’s The Hospice of St Francis and the Teenage Cancer Trust. He also set up charity Framework Foundation, named after the Berkhamsted business where he worked with Phil Latham until Phil died from stomach cancer aged 36 in 2010.

Now Matthew is aiming to tackle 30 marathons in 30 days from March 23, running between all the units where the Teenage Cancer Trust looks after children with cancer.

Simon Geary will run five UK marathons in six weeks, from the Northampton Marathon on March 31 to the Milton Keynes Marathon on Monday, May 6 in aid of the hospice, which cared for his mother-in-law Jenny Johnson before she died from throat cancer at the age of 60.

The 39-year-old, of Chiltern Park Avenue, Berkhamsted, will join Framework employee Mark Jewell, 38, of Chipperfield Road, Chipperfield, for Matthew’s 30th marathon, the London Marathon, on Sunday, April 21. Sponsor the three, who hope to raise £150,000 in 2013, at www.frameworkfoundation.co.uk
